HAEMODIALYIS UNIT

Eldho Mor Baselious dialysis centre has been installed with 9 machines working in two shifts, being 7:00 am to 5:00pm on all days, thereby undertaking 18 dialysis a day. The cost of each hemodialysis (HD) session in India varies from Rs 350 in government hospitals to Rs 2000 in some corporate hospitals. The state of the art 9 bedded Next Generation 4008S dialysis machines optimizes dialysis outcome through the use of its revolutionary online clearance Monitor (OCM). The OCM & Diasafe Plus are standard features delivering assured adequacy & Ultrapure dialysate with every treatment. Moreover, the machine is designed for ease of use, while providing the highest standard of patient safety & treatment hygiene. The therapeutic tools like Blood pressure monitor (BPM) and easy data management with patient card (offline) or network integration (online) are the unique features of this machine. Here again, the water generated from the reverse osmosis plant is effectively administered for Hemodialysis.

The centre mobilizes the knowledge and expertise of well-trained, experienced dialysis technicians and nurses who tend to patients under the effective supervision of a Resident Medical Officer. The dialysis sessions may be scheduled once or thrice per week or may be more based on the state of health of the patients. The Dialysis centre presently tends to 40 patients, of which 30 of them are fistula patients and the rest ,being catheter patients.

PATIENT BEDS

The Dialysis centre is having a total of 10 beds. The patient bed that is used in our Centre is ‘Five function manual ICU bed’. These beds have been specially designed for the healthcare sector as they help to reduce the risk of staff injuries and provide a safer environment for the caregiver. These beds have low height – which is a key advantage in reducing the risk of injury through falls. It is characterized by removable & interchangeable high quality beautiful ABS engineering plastic head panel and foot panel. D Type design, epoxy coated mild steel frame work and 4 section perforated top, drainage hooks on two sides, four Easy Lifting Guard Rails, provision for I.V. Rod on all sides of the bed.etc

The ‘Five function manual ICU bed’ beds have been designed with open architecture and no base cover to allow easy access for cleaning, decontamination, maintenance and service.

Each patient bed is having an overall standard length 2150mm; overall width 940mm. The mattress are of standard length of 1830mm and width 790mm. Some of the additional features for these beds include:

  • The blow-moulded deck sheets and head/foot panels are lightweight, smooth and easy to remove for cleaning.
  • The pit stop maintenance is possible through the open accessibility design and the plug and play components.
  • The bed has been designed for easy service and maintenance, reducing time spent on cleaning, servicing and maintenance.
LABORATORY

The Dialyis Centre has one of the best Laboratories, with state-of-the-art modular systems, automated analysers and other equipment that render accurate and precise test results in the shortest time possible. Manned by a team of highly experienced doctors, technicians and ancillary staff who follow stringent quality control measures to ensure unparalleled accuracy and precision in results and rapid turn around time. The Laboratory has the setup to facilitate immediate and efficient zero-error flow of information/results to the Dialysis department.

CSSD (Central Sterile Services Department)

CSSD department is working as the backbone of our hospital in ensuring quality by following infection control practices. For sterilization, we use autoclaving method. Autoclaving is the best suitable method of sterilization for all theatre instruments. Autoclaving at 120 C for 20 minutes at 15 lbs psi pressure kills micro organisms and spores. CSSD is also having ETO sterilizers to treat non metallic instruments

SOURCE OF WATER
  • Cleaning/ washing purpose.
  • Drinking purpose.
  • Medical purpose.

For cleaning and washing purpose the water is supplied from pond in the compound. The water is collected in an overhead tank in the hospital and consumed through the water taps

For drinking purpose the hospital uses RO system. This system is designed and manufactured to deliver the purest form of water. The technology of purification removes bacteria and viruses and also eliminates pesticides, harmful chemicals, metals and dissolved salts. In this process the booster pump applies pressure on water to make it pass through a semi permeable membrane with pores as small as 0.0001 micron. Purified water is collected through the permeate line and the impure water is flushed to drain.

For dialysis and other medical purposes also, we use water from RO system. This system removes excessive salts (total dissolved salts) like calcium, magnesium, sodium, bicarbonates, chlorides and sulphates in water by 90 - 95 %. Besides reducing the level of salinity and brackishness in water, it also reduces harmful minerals like arsenic, fluoride and lead. It removes bacteria, virus, cancer causing pesticides and other harmful chemicals. It has several unique features like indication that shows water level. Therefore it is the most ideal water to be used for medical purposes.
